 W8099 TO REV. CALVIN MCQUESTEN from H.C. Nunn Jun 1 1936 To: Rev. Calvin McQuesten 41 Jackson St. W., Hamilton, Ontario From: Hamilton, Ontario
THE HAMILTON BIRD PROTECTION SOCIETY
(Incorporated)
The object of this Society is to
extend hospitality to the wild birds: to protect
them from their enemies, to acquire a
greater knowledge of the bird-life of
this vicinity: and to awaken a greater
public interest in bird-protection and
bird-study.
Dear Mr. McQuesten,
The Hamilton Bird Protection Society is making arrangements to erect a memorial to the late R. Owen Merriman, M.A., one of the chief founders of the society and its first president. The memorial is to take the form of a cut-stone bird bath, and will be placed in one of the city parks, probably near the western entrance.
It is felt that many of Mr. Merriman's personal friends, as well as members of the Bird Society, would like to have a part in this tribute to his memory. Contributions from any desiring to make them should be sent as soon as possible to either of the undersigned.
