W8256 TO HON. THOMAS B. MCQUESTEN from C. H. J. Snider
Apr 30 1938
To: Thomas Baker McQuesten
From:

Dear Mr. McQuesten,

Commodore Jarvis tells me one of your ancestors was an officer in H.M.S. St. Lawrence1 launched in 1814 and now a wreck near Kingston. I have pleasure in sending you a copy of a picture I drew of the St. Lawrence for the John Ross Robertson collection of Canadian Historical Pictures. It is, I believe, accurate, for I have the original Admiralty plans (in photostat) from which the ship was built.

With sincere personal regards.

Yours very truly,

C. H. J. Snider

1 This "ancestor" was Tom's maternal grandfather and namesake, the Rev. Thomas Baker. See W8714.
