W8741 TO REV. CALVIN MCQUESTEN from his sister, Edna McQuesten
Nov 26 1913
To: Rev. Calvin McQuesten Bracebridge, Ontario
From: 'Whitehern,' Hamilton

My dear Calvin,

We finished the Venison to-night and certainly never had such a feast. I am very of it [sic] do not care so much for the bear although am glad to be able to say I've tasted it.

Was up to see old Mr. McLaren to-day. It is nearly a year since I heard of his first being taken ill. He had Hilda's music box going for me. Last week I had a sixteen-page letter from Hattie Dickie. She's an amusing girl.

Nellie James teaches a little girl in Rosedale for two hours for five mornings in the week at $1.00 for each two hour lesson. Then she has duty and takes girls for walks at Moulton without any teaching. And between it all she makes more than when she taught at Moulton.

Miss Duffield is going to take a sister of the 14 year-old girl Olive Harris has and is educating.

Mama and Mary are at Prayer-Meeting and the former spent afternoon at Laurier reception. Then to-morrow she'll remark, "I wonder why I seem so tired, I really have done nothing."

Mr. Purrot, Mary Purrot's father, fell dead of heart failure on the street yesterday. I went up to see Lorna's baby but it is a very thin delicate-looking child. Although with such thin parents what can you expect. L. is up three or four times at night with it.

Did I leave that little snap-shot of Agnes behind for I didn't find it in my trunk? Laura Hostetter did a little hand-painting for bazaar but not much as her hands are so rheumatic. Hattie Dickie tells me they have a lot of new books in at Library.

Mattie Davidson had coffee spilled on her at Laurier reception. Young. I. B. Buchanan and wife live in the flats build where Kilvington's greenhouse used to be.

Your affec. Sister

Edna
