1 Psalm 84: 10 reads: "For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness." (Authorized (King James) Version). 2 Chester S. Walters was mayor of Hamilton in 1916, and was Deputy Minister of Highways when Tom was minister in 1934. In 1948, in Tom's obituary, Walters wrote: "Thomas Baker McQuesten was one of Canada's great men. He was the soul of honour. As was said of Christopher Wren, 'if you would seek his monument, look about you' . . . He was my dearest friend" (Best 189). Rev. Ketchen had made a similar statement to Tom in a letter of July 12, 1947 (Box 08-202). (See also W6975n). |
