Dear Mrs. McQuesten,

When you write your triumphant Son Calvin, please send him my Congratulations with your own over his brilliant victory in Bracebridge yesterday. I say his victory because he told me when he so kindly called upon Charlie and me at Christmas how vigorously he was working for a temperance triumph. Where he is doing so much general good.

Both your sons are heroes who are worthy of heroic you.

I would have called upon you ere now, but have had a Cold:-

A glad New Year with choicest cheer.
To you and all you docket dear!
