Dear Mr. McQuesten,1

I now take much pleasure in answering your most beautiful card which I rec. at Christmas time, but I had almost forgotten it untill [sic] tonight I did not have anything to do so I thought I would try it.

I am going to school now an [sic] have a fine time. We all like the teacher splendidly he has red curly hair and is pretty good looking.

Well Mr. McQuesten I hope you are all well as it leaves us doing not to [sic] bad. We are having beautiful weather here now it is quite warm and there is not much snow on the level, roads are farely [sic] good around here and everything looks fine.

It is quite a long while since I seen Lady but she was just as fat as she could be, and she always knew me when I would go into the barn. I used to clean her during the day and steel [sic] her some oats once and a while so she always would kick up her heels everytime she was led out to water. One time Mr. Delarue went to Delisle and left her in care of me. The next day I got on her back and went after the cows and I never seen a better horse to ride than she was.

Today when Douglas and I were going to school old [?] almost ran away from us. You would never think she was eighteen years old but that is just what she is when ever Clarence leads her out to water she trys [sic] her best to get away from him and she is just as round as an apple.

"Oh! Say." I almost forgot to tell you that Sam and Gertie are married they tied the knot pretty quick. Well I guess that is all for this time.
With best regards to all.
Vera
