W8949 TO REV. CALVIN MCQUESTEN, B.A. from his mother, Mary Baker McQuesten Jun 4 1912 Tuesday Postmarked To: Calvin McQuesten 'The Manse' Bracebridge Ontario From: 'Whitehern' My dearest Calvin,
When you count it up, I do not think it would pay at all to come up by boat. It would take so much of your time, unless you are not obliged to return on Monday and can take your time. To come up by boat only does not pay for now it is [?] and can [?] beside the long drag to steamer in Toronto. You see the boat does not leave Toronto till 6 o'clock that means a late arrival, then I would not want you starting off on Monday at 8 a.m. the morning of the day I am leaving. So we will expect you for the tea on Friday at least by 6:30 unless for some special reason you prefer coming by later train. H. says you are to look at linoleum, think a [neat?] one similar to ours ought to suit best when you have different patterns in your living & dining rooms.
Very busy must close. Could you get carpet sweeper at Macdonald's. We pay 3.00 here for a good one it is lowest price for a really good one. It is a Grand Rapids Bissell machine and I can get it at Watkins if you cannot do better. With much love.
Your Mother
M.B. McQuesten
[P.S.] Have got the very thing for your book case curtains.
